Heavy Metal(lics): Get the Look
Want to play with heavy metal and metallic accessories like Inna, without the heavy price tag? Why not let your nails do the talking? A London based nail polish company called Nails Inc. has created a magnetic nail polish that creates an awesome 3D effect. Recently featured in US Vogue magazine this magnetic nail trend has taken the beauty world by storm.
Check it
Review:
Yes, I was lucky enough to run to my local Sephora to snag the polish, causing the buzz, for a cheapie $16! I purchased the formula in "Trafalgar Square" a great silver shade for the cold weather. It does exactly what is advertised. My only tip is that right after you paint the second coat of polish use the magnetic cap right away. The more wet our nails are, the better the magnets in the polish react with the cap. My nails look great and I can't wait to show them off this week! ;D I give this nail polish 5/5 stars *****
Conclusion: GO buy Nail Inc. 's Magnetic polish before it flies off the shelves!!!!

Get the Look: Happy Halloween!!!
Happy Halloween Everyone!
If you don't have your costume yet? AND you have a party or two to go to tonight, don't stress. It's time to raid your closet for some easy last minute costume ideas!
Idea #1: K-Pop Star (Korean Pop Star)
Get the Look:
For the Guys: Revive an old suit, with some bright colored shirts and chains Or decorate an old varsity jacket with fun different sized pins and sport lense-less nerd glasses. Take some gel and hairspray, then fluff up your hair with a blow dryer and brush.
For the Girls: Run to your closest drug store and grab fake lashes, liquid eyeliner, and bright pink lip gloss apply all three, liberally. Then find a Madonna style wig with a long ponytail, re-vamp an old leather jacket with studs and patches and rock sky high heels to complete the look.
Idea #2: EVERY American Pop Diva (...lately...)

Get the Look:
Buy a cheapie bodysuit from American Apparel, add a wide belt, tights and find a messy long wig (that looks like you've been dancing all night). Slip on some high heeled boots and you're done!
Whatever you choose to wear/ do for Halloween, have fun with it!... no regrets about your costume, because that's what drunken Facebook pics are for! ;)
Happy Halloween! <3

So Simple, So Good!
As I search the web for the freshest beat out there, I came across this wonderful good-ness.
It comes from a more rare place, but the beat that is electrifying your very core is one not to miss.

Pop Music and Chanel
Everyone recognizes the Chanel logo, the two intersecting C's have always represented opulence and high status. However, has anyone looked at it and thought "Pop Music"? Probably not, but you're a big fan of pop (like me ;)), after this post the name Chanel should have more relavance in your life. Claiming to own over 70 ipods, the artistic director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld is more than dedicated to music.
Lily Allen starts at 1:37
Being one of the most famous pop-producing-Brits, Lily Allen was a chic choice for Lagerfeld to include in his Spring '10 show.
Florence Welch
Ever since "The Dog Days are Over" peaked on the Billboard Charts, Florence and the Machine has become a household name. Apparently her name crept into the abode and ears of Chanel's head designer. (Chanel Spring '12)
Inspired by Amy Winehouse starts at 1:26
Piqued by the iconic Beehive hair style, the hairstylists of Chanel in 2007 created an Amy Winehouse/Bridget Bardot inspired "do" on their models.
To conclude, Chanel is more than a brand or sign of wealth, it is a statement of what is significant today in entertainment and music.

Get The Look: MUSIC FESTIVALS
Why does everyone LOVE festivals? They're fun, laid back, and of course MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC!
The twins, Dan and Dean Caten of Dsquared2 clearly are just as enamored with the classic music festival as much as I am. Everything from studded leather to torn denim with wellies (rainboots) is thrown into the show. The designers even included live recordings from the famous Glastonbury festival by everyone from Lady Gaga to U2. This look is ...slightly... less than conservative, the key is to be creative and don't be afraid of rolling around in grungy/glamourous piles of glitter and mud. ;)
Also...
For those, who need their faces to match their attire, I'm a big fan of Michelle Phan. For years I have been taking make-up tips from the YouTube icon, this is a video she directed with a festival make-up tutorial included. Enjoy!

People and Trax
http://bit.ly/qATbU0 |
The song, Pumped Up Kicks has been their top song and it already is starting some noise in the club world.
Recent mix to check out:
http://soundcloud.com/butchclancy/foster-the-people-pumped-up
It has a strong dub feel to it and sounds great if you're into the down feeling of slow tempo dub step.
More info about Foster the People check out their site:

A new release of his is also a sample of another song. I'm sure you can guess which one.

Fresh Beets: NEW Jay Electronica track
Maybe, this is a sign that Jay's ready to release his LONG anticipated album, Act II:Patents of Nobility? He's talking about putting the finishing touches on it lately with producer/engineer Young Guru and, seriously, it's about time we finally get to hear it.
Jay Electronica dedicated this new track to Apple’s late co-founder Steve Jobs and his own hometown. “I dedicate today’s release to Steve Jobs’ family, and the people of New Orleans,” he tweeted (@JayElectronica). Jay Electronica for some reason later deleted that tweet along with the tweet to hear the new song. Fortunately, it is on YouTube.
